With the flop of the XV Brand Jordan looked to its past for design inspiration for the XVI. By incorporating a visible air unit (the last time visible air had been see on an Air Jordan shoe was 10 years earlier in 1991) and patent leather (not available on the lows) into the design of the XVI they used our nostalgic love for the older models to bring us back for the newest one.
