The Avia 822 Basketball shoe is one in a series of Avia basketball shoes from the late 80′s thats highly sought after by vintage sneaker collectors today. Featuring a great silhouette, solid Avia quality and a good price tag (original MSRP was 49.99) they sold well and played second fiddle to few other shoes at the price point. The 822 featured leather uppers, a notched heel to reduce fatigue, their legendary cantilever sole (to provide max cushioning and stability), a rubber sponge insole with EVA forefoot pad, and extended heel counter and forefoot stabilizer straps.
